George is a Professional Engineer by training with a Civil Engineering degree from the Technical University of Nova Scotia and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from McMaster University. George has a successful track record of delivering management consulting assignments in the transport sector in Canada, Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining CPCS, he held supervisory and management positions of increasing responsibility at the Canadian National Railway in operations, infrastructure maintenance and financial & strategic planning. In his last position, he was responsible for the Engineering department in CN's Atlantic Zone, where he was responsible for the maintenance of track, structures, and signals & communication systems on over 600 miles of mainline track. Joining CPCS in 2006, George applied his breadth of railway knowledge to wide-ranging rail projects including feasibility studies; infrastructure and functional designs; condition assessments and rehabilitation plans; upgrading and performance studies; and transaction advisory. In more recent years, George has applied his expertise to other transport sectors including multimodal, urban transit and road transport; often providing project leadership or technical support on studies involving corridor strategies, logistics analysis and cross-sector benchmarking.
