CPCS was engaged, in the context of the Cholchester Regional Transportation Master Plan to assess interchanges to access business parks and districts, rail transport promotion and routing through the county, multimodal development initiatives (road, rail, air), and road access to downtown (Truro and Stewiacke). The study also includes a preliminary assessment of commuter rail opportunities between Truro and Halifax, Nova Scotia. This included a review of passenger transport activity along the Truro-Halifax corridor, developing a commuter traffic profile, assessing the potential market for commuter rail services and ridership potential, as well as financial and operating requirements.
