RAIL
The roots of CPCS are firmly planted in the Canadian rail sector. In fact, we started as the consulting arm of Canadian Pacific Railway. Today, we meet challenges in both the freight and passenger rail sectors throughout the world. In recent years, our services have ranged from assisting clients develop and implement effective strategies for private sector participation (PSP) in rail projects through to the detailed design of railway infrastructure and systems. Whether assessing the feasibility of increasing a railway’s capacity or developing a new urban rail network, the CPCS team of experts has the breadth and depth of experience to meet all challenges head-on and exceed client’s expectations.
Our Team has received special recognition for our work in developing rail public-private partnerships (PPP). As a result of our project efforts, CPCS was awarded the World Bank President’s Award for Excellence for our work on the Mali-Senegal Railway concession project. In recent years, we have been heavily involved with bringing urban rail projects to existence in a number of cities. These projects typically require a firm capable of offering all services leading to the implementation of the rail service; ranging from engineering design through to structuring contractual arrangements and advising on legal, regulatory and Institutional Strengthening and Reform; financial and economic analysis; and community engagement. CPCS is uniquely qualified to offer this wide range of services.
